Jaded Blossom Challenge/Rak

Hey there crafty friends!!
Yes, yes....its been another long crafting drought for me!!!  I'm hoping to change that a little bit this month and in the coming months as well.
This year Christmas will be a little different for us because I am currently unemployed.  I lost my job that I held for 15 years to overseas outsourcing.  It wasn't unexpected and if it had to happen it came at a convenient time as both my parents and inlaws have needed lots of extra help the past few months.  Anyhoo......I've long been trying to change up the way we do things for Christmas around here.  So this year since money is a little tight and instead of spending money on impractical trinkets just so we can open presents, we've decided to go a different route.  I'm just going to do various RAK's throughout the month...throughout the year really....of inexpensive little gestures to unsuspecting people. Now...it may be someone in need or it may be just random...like a RAK is suppose to be.
This first one is just a funny little random one!!

So a few weeks ago someone I used to work with posted on her FB page that she was in search of these:

So the other day i'm out shopping and i just so happen to spot 2 boxes of these and I was like oh...Annie was looking for these....and that is when I started thinking of this whole RAK thing for Christmas.  They are pretty inexpensive, She was looking for them, We haven't worked together for a very long time....so it would be something that she would not be expecting at all....hopefully it will make her happy...and maybe it will inspire her to pass along the good deed.  If not...well....it made me happy!!  ha ha ha!!!

This little gift is also serving a dual purpose.  Today starts a new challenge at Jaded Blossom!!  I haven't really been able to participate in these much the past year or so.  The timing for this was pretty perfect as well!!
I used lots of JB goodies for this project:

We are also planning to "adopt" a family in need as well....more on that to come later!

Have a fantastic day!!

JB challenge project bust!

Hey there crafty friends!
Its been quite a while since I've been able to enter into my beloved Jaded Blossom's monthly challenge.  This project turned out nothing like I had planned....you can't see the vinyl on the jar very well with the candy in it.....but I'm going to enter it into the challenge anyways.  I guess I'm just a little rusty!!!

I used the new Halloween Scenic dies and cut them out of vinyl.  My first idea was a complete bust. I put them on a really cool purple mason jar and was going to put a tea light in it to make a little lantern...but you couldn't see the dies at all...then I had this idea...which was good until I put the candies in the jar...then you can barely see the dies...and for whatever reason I couldn't get a good picture to save my life!!!!  Just not my day today!  Learn from my mistakes people.  Ha ha ha..

Bun Warmer Pumpkin

Hey there crafty friends.
So my life has been kind of crazy over the past year or so.  I've gone from working 100+hrs a week to being unemployed.  We lost my father in law at the end of May after over 18 months of many illnesses and hospitalizations.  My parents health is not that great and I am helping them quite a bit.  Crafting has definitely taken a back seat.  I'm hoping that will change a little bit.  With my new found free time I have "found" pinterest!!!  ACK!!!  This is not a good thing.  Talk about a time sucker.  Anyhoo....I finally finished this little project I stumbled upon.

So how many of you had one of these growing up????

I saw this idea on Organized Clutter .  I thought it was really cute and when I walked past one of these at a yard sale I knew I just had to try and make one!!!

I was able to take off the side handles and spray painted the bun warmer. I then decorated it with some stamps and dies from Jaded Blossom.  I used Autumn leaves and also the SVG outlines that they make available for many of their stamp sets. I also used Happy Fall and the Treat Tag Die.

Fall/Halloween fun!

Hey there crafty friends.
Ok, don't faint...2 blog posts in 2 days??!!!!  This hasn't happened in quite a while.

Now this isn't really paper crafting related...but its creative related none the less.  I haven't had time in years to decorate for fall/halloween inside or outside.  While the weather was good I thought I would concentrate on the outside.  I got a lot of my ideas from other crafty people and pinterest of course!!
Hubby is showing me how to use his power tools so I'm getting a little crafty in the garage now!!!  With the help of my sweet husband I made the the street sign and the scarecrow.  I painted the seat on the chair and made the welcome sign, scarecrow and crow.  I'm really hoping to do some more...but we'll have to see what life throws at me in the next few weeks.  I had great fun doing all this!!!!

Stamp Storage!

Hey there crafty friends!!
Wow...its been another long stretch between posts again!!  Hopefully with fall approaching the drought will come to an end.  I haven't been doing paper crafty things...but have been doing lots of fun stuff with wood recently.
I have discovered a whole different use for my Silhouette Cameo.  I'm sure I'm "late to the party" here...but I never even thought of making stencils or using my machine to help me create signs.  Wowza...I've opened up a whole new world for myself and I'm having a blast!!!

My awesome hubby has been showing me how to use all his tools in the garage to help me with my crafts! I have a lot of things I want to make for our yard, but I've also been after him to help be build some storage boxes for my "little" stamp collection.  I finally cornered him this weekend and we made it happen!!!

For the My Collection lettering and the Jaded Blossom flower logo I actually cut vinyl on the box and then painted over it.  First you have to paint the different sections of the box in the color you want your image/lettering to show up as and then paint over it.  I wait till the paint is somewhat dry and then pull up the vinyl.  I tried to cut a stencil for the words Jaded Blossom in the font they use for their logo....but I couldn't get it to cut without tearing the vinyl, so I went with just the initials.  I didn't like how it turned out when I painted it on like the rest of the design....I didn't have a darker shade of brown paint and I wanted it to stand out a little...so for that part I did actually put the vinyl on the box.  I'm pretty excited how these came out...however...as you can see...my boxes are pretty well full so I plan on building a couple more!!!

Jaded Blossom Monthly challenge

Hey there crafty friends.
I'm slowly settling into this new lifestyle of mine of being unemployed after working 80+hrs /week for the past 5 months.  It's a little strange.  Not sure exactly what I want to be when I grow up...ha ha ha.  Thankfully the job I got laid off from is paying severance for a couple of months and I have time to figure it out!
I've had these little milk bottles that I picked up at Target back around Valentine's Day.  I didn't have time to make a project with them then...but I figured the color worked out well for a 4th of July project.  This is a pretty simple one folks!!!  I filled the bottle with some America Mix Skittles that I also picked up at Target.  I have a friend that doesn't care for chocolate (I'm not sure how we are even friends...I mean...who doesn't like chocolate???) so I'm hoping to catch up with her before the 4th to be able to give this to her!!

I'm entering this into the Jaded Blossom Monthly Challenge.
The stamp is Bless the USA and the tag is the Treat Tag Die

I hope you have noticed my new blog design.  I chose this one for the Bumble Bees because the meaning of my name happens to be Bee...and my husband always tells me I'm a busy little bee.  Credit goes to the Bomb Squad Blogs.  If you are in the market for a new blog design check them out!!

SVG cutting files challenge and a tribute

Hey there crafty friends!!
Well now...it's been quite a long time hasn't it?
Life has been pretty crazy these past few months!  My life has definitely taken a turn in a very different direction.  It's bittersweet, but hopefully it will mean more crafty time for me!  For that I am happy!
Here is my first project in a very long time!  It's one I'm doing for the SVG cutting files challenge this month.  I must apologize for the poor photography...but I was just so excited to get this posted that I didn't want to wait until the morning when the light would have been so much better!  Please forgive me!!

Recipe:

I'd like to dedicate this project to my father in law who recently passed away.  He was one of the proudest American's I have ever known!  He loved his country.  He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.  We miss him greatly!!!

Activities projects

Hey there crafty friends!
I've been working crazy hours the past few weeks so the only crafting I've gotten in are the projects I've been doing with my residents!  Thought I would share some of them with you!!

These little butterflies we made for table decorations.  We put each residents name on the right wing but I have blurred them out.  We used a sentiment from Jaded Blossom's Valentine Signs on the left wing!

Yesterday was National Peppermint Patty Day!  I love doing little things for all of these "National" holidays.  There are usually at least one or two for every day of the year!!.  We used a tag from Jaded Blossom's Mini Tag dies and the sentiment is from The Perfect Match.

Finally, these will be the Valentine's we give out on Valentine's Day!  the Frog and Tag are from Nitwit collections and the sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Funny Valentine.

Hope you've enjoyed seeing our fun little projects!!!
Until next time....Have a wonderful day!

Happy National Hug Day!

Hey there crafty friends!!!
Today is National Hug Day!
A couple of residents helped me make little treats for the other residents. I made a little bear basket to hold some "hugs" for the nursing staff and I also sent out one to the front desk!!

The first little treat was made using the Nitwits collection Bear Necessities collection, Jaded Blossom's Scallop Circle Dies, Mini Tag dies and the sentiment is from Halloween Signs.

The cute Belly Bear Box is from MyScrapChick.  I used the sign from Jaded Blossom's Fall Dies, Flag Dies.  The sentiment again from Halloween Signs.

Nitwit challenge

Hey there crafty friends!!
My favorite digital designers, Nitwit Collections, has a new challenge every week.  They alternate between cards and scrapbook pages.  I'm challenging myself this year to try and participate is as many as possible!  This past weeks challenge was to create a card for a friend!  Here was my entry!

I used the Nitwit Collections From the sea kit.  Of course I also used some of my Jaded Blossom goodies, Stitched circle dies, Scallop Circle Dies and Best Friends stamp set.  Now the best part about the files from Nitwits is that they aren't just for digital scrapbooking.  All their papers print out and look like the best store bought paper and their PNG files can be made into print and cut files on the Silhouette Cameo.  I'm going to try and create a tutorial on just how to do that soon!  Be on the lookout!

Working my crafting into work!!!

Hello there crafty friends!
Well...I didn't win the Powerball so I continue to work my 2 jobs!!!
Since my job in the evening takes away much of the time I have for crafting I decided to just work my crafting into my job!  I do a lot of crafts with my residents and one of these days I will remember to take pictures of the things we make.  This week I redid a bulletin board that needed a facelift.  This one happens to be in the dining area...so it has to incorporate a lot of things on it.  I feel it looks a little busy, but the residents seem to like it and I had fun putting it together!!

The 10 Things I like about snow if from Treasure Box designs.  I embellished it a little with some Jaded Blossom Products:  Number Candies and Winter Dies.  All the cute snowman, birdies and trees came from various files from Nitwit Collections.   I added a few sentiments on the snowmen from Winter Wishes!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Thanks a latte!

Happy 2016 my crafty friends!
2016! Can you believe it?  I feel like 2015 was just a blur and I'm really hoping to be crafting a lot more in 2016!

My first creation of the year is a simple thank you card for one of my boss's that gave me a Starbucks gift card for Christmas!  I haven't even had time to use it all yet!  Hoping to get in a few more of those Peppermint Mocha Frappuccinos while they still have them!  I know they are choc full of sugar which I'm trying to avoid..but I can't help myself.  They are really yummy!!

The papers and the image are all from Nitwit Collections Coffee Talk files.!  The Png's that come with these kits are perfect for print and cuts on your Silhouette cameo!!! You have to check out are their files!  They are the cutest!!!

I also used several of my Jaded Blossom goodies on this card and envelope. The brown mat was cut from the new Stitched Square Dies, the Flag die is from  Mini Tag Dies 2 .  The sentiments and coffee girl are from Kind Thanks and Java Time. The envelope was a file from the Silhouette store.  I'm entering this card into the Jaded Blossom Monthly challenge!  Wish me luck!

Thanks for stopping by and here's to a wonderful new year!!
