JB challenge project bust!

Hey there crafty friends!
Its been quite a while since I've been able to enter into my beloved Jaded Blossom's monthly challenge.  This project turned out nothing like I had planned....you can't see the vinyl on the jar very well with the candy in it.....but I'm going to enter it into the challenge anyways.  I guess I'm just a little rusty!!!

I used the new Halloween Scenic dies and cut them out of vinyl.  My first idea was a complete bust. I put them on a really cool purple mason jar and was going to put a tea light in it to make a little lantern...but you couldn't see the dies at all...then I had this idea...which was good until I put the candies in the jar...then you can barely see the dies...and for whatever reason I couldn't get a good picture to save my life!!!!  Just not my day today!  Learn from my mistakes people.  Ha ha ha..

Bun Warmer Pumpkin

Hey there crafty friends.
So my life has been kind of crazy over the past year or so.  I've gone from working 100+hrs a week to being unemployed.  We lost my father in law at the end of May after over 18 months of many illnesses and hospitalizations.  My parents health is not that great and I am helping them quite a bit.  Crafting has definitely taken a back seat.  I'm hoping that will change a little bit.  With my new found free time I have "found" pinterest!!!  ACK!!!  This is not a good thing.  Talk about a time sucker.  Anyhoo....I finally finished this little project I stumbled upon.

So how many of you had one of these growing up????

I saw this idea on Organized Clutter .  I thought it was really cute and when I walked past one of these at a yard sale I knew I just had to try and make one!!!

I was able to take off the side handles and spray painted the bun warmer. I then decorated it with some stamps and dies from Jaded Blossom.  I used Autumn leaves and also the SVG outlines that they make available for many of their stamp sets. I also used Happy Fall and the Treat Tag Die.

Fall/Halloween fun!

Hey there crafty friends.
Ok, don't faint...2 blog posts in 2 days??!!!!  This hasn't happened in quite a while.

Now this isn't really paper crafting related...but its creative related none the less.  I haven't had time in years to decorate for fall/halloween inside or outside.  While the weather was good I thought I would concentrate on the outside.  I got a lot of my ideas from other crafty people and pinterest of course!!
Hubby is showing me how to use his power tools so I'm getting a little crafty in the garage now!!!  With the help of my sweet husband I made the the street sign and the scarecrow.  I painted the seat on the chair and made the welcome sign, scarecrow and crow.  I'm really hoping to do some more...but we'll have to see what life throws at me in the next few weeks.  I had great fun doing all this!!!!

Stamp Storage!

Hey there crafty friends!!
Wow...its been another long stretch between posts again!!  Hopefully with fall approaching the drought will come to an end.  I haven't been doing paper crafty things...but have been doing lots of fun stuff with wood recently.
I have discovered a whole different use for my Silhouette Cameo.  I'm sure I'm "late to the party" here...but I never even thought of making stencils or using my machine to help me create signs.  Wowza...I've opened up a whole new world for myself and I'm having a blast!!!

My awesome hubby has been showing me how to use all his tools in the garage to help me with my crafts! I have a lot of things I want to make for our yard, but I've also been after him to help be build some storage boxes for my "little" stamp collection.  I finally cornered him this weekend and we made it happen!!!

For the My Collection lettering and the Jaded Blossom flower logo I actually cut vinyl on the box and then painted over it.  First you have to paint the different sections of the box in the color you want your image/lettering to show up as and then paint over it.  I wait till the paint is somewhat dry and then pull up the vinyl.  I tried to cut a stencil for the words Jaded Blossom in the font they use for their logo....but I couldn't get it to cut without tearing the vinyl, so I went with just the initials.  I didn't like how it turned out when I painted it on like the rest of the design....I didn't have a darker shade of brown paint and I wanted it to stand out a little...so for that part I did actually put the vinyl on the box.  I'm pretty excited how these came out...however...as you can see...my boxes are pretty well full so I plan on building a couple more!!!
